PIONNIERES AT MUSEE DU LUXEMBOURG

This exhibition traces the journey of female artists in the Roaring Twenties from March 02 to July 10, 2022 through paintings, sculptures, photographs, films, textile and literary works highlighting the essential role of women in the development of major movements. artists of modernity such as Tamara de Lempicka, Sonia Delaunay, Tarsila do Amaral or even Chana Orloff, born at the end of the 19th or the very beginning of the 20th century, finally entered the great art schools that had until then been reserved for men. These “new women” are the first to be able to be recognized as artists, to own a studio, a gallery or a publishing house, to run workshops in art schools, to represent naked bodies, whether male or feminine.
